I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. I then completed my master's degree in Spiritual Psychology at the University Of Santa Monica. My doctorate degree is in clinical psychology from California Graduate Institute, LA. I have written my dissertation about domestic violence and the effects of patriarchal culture.
I first started my career as a foster care social worker in 1998. I was always very passionate about working with children and adults who were abused. I also worked with perpetrators and court-mandated parents during that time. Subsequently for the following years, I continued my work, this time as a therapist, with abused children and their families, and with adults abused as children. I have conducted various group therapies for parents, new mothers with their babies, and pregnant and at risk teenagers. I have been in private practice since 2003, working with adults who have experienced various trauma. In the last few years, I have also worked at various treatment centers (Clearview Treatment Center, Moonview Sanctuary, PCH treatment center) as trauma specialist.
During my doctorate studies, I have completed Level I and II trainings in EMDR, and have studied Somatic Experiencing for 2 years. In 2002 I started my 9 year-long study with Christine Schenk who founded the CHRIS-Technique. Through the CHRIS®-Technique,I have learned through self-discovery and now am able to guide clients to do the same - how to be at peace, empowered, confident, more loving and kinder to self and others. And last, but not least, in 2011 I have completed level I, trauma treatment training, of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy with Pat Ogden.
I am multicultural and multilingual. I have been living in the USA for 20 years, and I also lived in Spain, France, Turkey and Brazil which allowed me to understand cultural differences in human behavior and thought. I can provide therapy in English, Spanish, French and Turkish. I am able to converse in Italian and Portuguese as well. |
